My girlfriend’s mom shared with me a brief story about an acquaintance of hers.  This friend wasn’t very tech savvy overall, and when her friends’ parent died, she left the following note on their facebook:

“My condolences about your father.  LOL”

People were confused why she’d write something so mean.  But it turns out, she had always thought LOL meant “Lots of Love.”

Got this shot on New Years Eve just as 2012 rang in on the drunken streets of Galway.  Maybe the best photo I’ve taken.

At the moment, my favorite word is “postprandial.”  It refers to the time after eating a meal.  I recommend everyone use it in conversation today. 

This is a water fountain outside the Osaka JR Station.  It tells the time, and makes cool designs, by dropping water.
